Bravus’s new book out now in Finland (available later also in English)
THE END OF DENIAL (Calidris Publishing 2025)
The End of Denial is a psychologically accurate non fiction book dressed to non fiction thriller about emotional avoidance, boundary erosion, survival silence.
Through the story of Laura, a woman who slowly realizes she is living in a conditioned, abusive nightmare, the book exposes the step-by-step psychological chain of how denial forms, how it holds, and how it shatters.
The book reveals how people learn to fear conflict, suppress emotions, idealize independence to the point of isolation, and thinking silence as strength.
It shows how avoidance travels through families, friendships, workplaces, and even social systems.
When Laura finally breaks her silence, the reactions mirror what countless survivors face: disbelief, distancing, judgment, and the covert cruelty of those too avoidant to face their own reflections.
The End of Denial is not a victim narrative. It is wake up call and path to the healthy emotions and living an honest life.
And of course real, healthy love.
It maps the emotional body with scientific clarity, exposes the difference between avoidance and narcissism (and why they look the same externally), dismantles the myths that keep people compliant, and offers a path toward self-recognition, embodied boundaries, and real relational safety.
The book gives language to what millions live and feel but cannot articulate.
It is a companion for anyone who has ever sensed something was wrong—long before they had the words to voice it.
Bravus writes with breathtaking accuracy because she has lived every layer of the psyche she explores. While developing End of Denial, she pushed her body and mind into full embodiment—training in street fighting and MMA, breaking through physical limits that mirrored the emotional constraints she was dismantling on the page. Simultaneously, she worked closely with a top psychologist as a writing counsellor, ensuring the book’s psychological framework is not only emotionally true but scientifically precise.
Her mission is simple and radical:
To turn silence into language. To turn avoidance into awareness. To turn truth into something beautiful, useful, and impossible to ignore.

US&Us: Surviving Hollywood With Comedy
Finland’s most read and listened nonfiction book in 2021
A Finnish comedian-writer couple arrives in Los Angeles. Is the city ready for them?
The authors share their personal story of navigating through the Hollywood comedy industry and the American way of life as a freshly arrived writer-comedian couple from a very different society. As they examine this new world and how their old one looks from afar, they end up realizing their life is like an ongoing stand-up bit. And that the line between tragedy and comedy is truly so fine it’s in many ways non-existent.
US&Us: Surviving Hollywood with Comedy is the international version of Finland’s #1 bestselling nonfiction title Suo, kuokka ja Hollywood, by the same authors, which was published in Finland in March 2021 and has sold more than 100 000 copies across all formats.
What’s my story?
I was born in Sweden to Finnish parents. I moved to Los Angeles 2015 after a long writer career in Finland and internationally.
I specialize in language, cultures, emotional intelligence – how all this affect us as individuals.
What I do thrives from a combination of having a master’s degree in literature, studying and teaching a particular area of linguistics as well as emotional intelligence to individuals and groups. And from a long and diverse background almost in all kinds of writing. I also have degrees in journalism and public communicating. Also working in both.
For thirteen years, I was an assistant writer to my now ex comedian husband. Until it was time to start using my own voice and change my last name to Bravus. It’s Latin and means brave.
Said about my works
For some reason I haven't finished books. This wasn't the case with this one. Feels like the book came alive, when for a long time books have been just words.
All your puzzling about things from different angles is a great way to spend time. All the best!
