Angelika Bravus,
author, writer
Angelika Bravus (formerly Leikola) is a Finnish-born, Los Angeles–based bestselling author and screenwriter.
A former journalist and publicist, she holds a Master’s degree in literature with a minor in film, alongside certifications in emotional intelligence and linguistics.
Bravus has created her own Bravus method of writing that combines psychological insight, neuroscience, linguistic play and cultural codes to Hollywood style storytelling.
Her work does not only describe behavior. It makes the reader experience it.
Particularly emotional avoidance, escaping of responsibility, and the structures people build to maintain identity, often at the cost of authenticity and truth.
Known for her accuracy, Bravus approaches storytelling through both intellect and lived embodiment.
While writing her latest work, The End of Denial, she trained in street fighting and MMA to understand the body’s fear responses from the inside out, and collaborated closely with a leading psychologist to ensure emotional and behavioral dynamics are grounded in real-world understanding.
Drawing from decades of observation, study, and experience, her work moves between literature and cinematic storytelling creating stories that are not only understood, but deeply felt.
Her voice is unique, surprising and fearless – with a sharp underlying sense of humor shaped by her background in comedy writing.
Her first bestselling book, Us vs. US – Surviving Hollywood With Comedy (Finnish: Suo, Kuokka ja Hollywood, 2021), based on her personal experience navigating a breakthrough in the U.S. entertainment industry, became a cultural landmark in Finland before she transitioned into even more psychologically and neurologically driven work.
Her mission:
To reveal what people see and feel but cannot name – and to build stories strong enough to cut through denial and hold the truth.
